about me
hi friends, it’s shay! i’m a student at depaul university pursuing a master’s in critical ethnic studies. critical ethnic studies is an interdisciplinary field that allows me the space to incorporate a wide range of fields of study and mediums into my research. my research interests include the black diaspora, black feminism(s), critical internet studies, and media representations. my current project focuses on the black diaspora in digital spaces.
outside of my grad school work, i work full-time as a digital marketing associate. my first love is music so i love to sing, write, produce, and perform whenever i can. i spend a lot of my time on social media (mainly twitter, tiktok, and threads) but i love to read, listen to music, crochet, and watch a good reality tv series
